Author unknown – my title while grieving – someone else’s words
When we lose someone we love
The loss too great too bear
God sends us folks to comfort us
who show He deeply cares
In darkest hours of the night
No one else around
At our sad loneliest place ~
it’s there, God’s love is found
Like a soothing healing balm
To aid are busted hearts
Warm oil pours o’er our soul
touching every part
Rest secure in His love
Know He’s by our side
Holds us even though He knows
a part of us has died
Oh yes of course He hears us
When we first just want to talk
But when we shed those ugly tears
He listens; doesn’t balk
He is always very near
Arms open ready wide
As we pour out our hurt within
He pours His love inside
Our Father loves us oh so much
Never leaves us alone
He won’t forsake us in our need
to face this on our own
He comforts us and strengthens us
massages with his balm
As the dawn breaks through the night
we’re wrapped in loving calm

The music of the morning rain
just beyond my window pain
massaging the land with repetitious splashes of moisture.
Varying degrees of timbre and pitch
a choral cacophony
Fitting that nature should join my hearts phrase
Memories echo of long ago days
How many gallons have poured from the sky?
Can you pay that water bill? Neither can I…
Picking up pieces just tears of my heart
placing them down again,
oh where do I start?…
What’s about this paradigm of a need to say goodbye
Why?
he never did,
why should I?
it used to have us complain “you never say good-bye”

I’m glad it rained on this anniversary of your passing. #breathe
Thought I’d share what I just read. Something to ponder.
“Some survivors try to think their way through grief. That doesn’t work. (whew!) Grief is a releasing process, a discovery process, a healing process. We cannot release or discover or heal by the use of our minds alone. The brain must follow the heart at a respectful distance. It is our hearts that ache when a loved one dies. It is our emotions that are most drastically affected (double whew!). Certainly the mind suffers, the mind recalls, the mind may plot and plan and wish (and wish & wish) yet it is the heart that will blaze the trail through the thicket of grief.” *
Thankful for the heart, in its broken state, loved and held close by Him. Psalm 34:18
“A time to Grieve” by Carol Staudeacher.
When your soul screams loudly
through the night
~
all seems dark
your pain needs light.
I trust the one
assigned your care
will hear your cry
not just walk by
~won’t say simply “Come again”
or
“It’s just him” and not go in.
~
Rather touch your brow
with some concern
review your chart
your need to learn ~~
This kind of care
the human touch
right from the heart
means oh so much!
A loved ones call
at Christmastime
couldn’t get through
to know he’s fine ~
Like a baby’s sigh
of deep relief
that soothes the soul ~
no matter if
you’re young or old.
Ignoring ’cause
they’re “older folk”
just might have been
what caused the stroke ~
Again, I pray
when comes your time
that you’re not treated
like you did mine.
~~RIP daddy. Miss you much.
