Soul Lover

When we lose someone we love

The loss too great too bear

God sends us folks to comfort us

who show He deeply cares

In darkest hours of the night

No one else around

At our sad loneliest place ~

it’s there, God’s love is found

Like a soothing healing balm

To aid are busted hearts

Warm oil pours o’er our soul

touching every part

Rest secure in His love

Know He’s by our side

Holds us even though He knows

a part of us has died

Oh yes of course He hears us

When we first just want to talk

But when we shed those ugly tears

He listens; doesn’t  balk

He is always very near

Arms open ready wide

As we pour out our hurt within

He pours His love inside

Our Father loves us oh so much

Never leaves us alone

He won’t forsake us in our need

to face this on our own

He comforts us and strengthens us

massages with his balm

As the dawn breaks through the night

we’re wrapped in loving calm

Let it Rain

Lovemydad
Sideways These Days

The music of the morning rain

just beyond my window pain

massaging the land with repetitious splashes of moisture.

Varying degrees of timbre and pitch

a choral cacophony

Fitting that nature should join my hearts phrase

Memories echo of long ago days

How many gallons have poured from the sky?

Can you pay that water bill? Neither can I…

Picking up pieces just tears of my heart

placing them down again,

oh where do I start?…

What’s about this paradigm of a need to say goodbye

Why?

he never did,

why should I?

it used to have us complain “you never say good-bye”

“LIKE IN FOREST, WITH TWO R’S”

I am fortunate to have had a dad that through his ups and downs, he chose to stake his hope in the true vine, Jesus Christ as his life line. I took this picture at my nephew’s wedding last year. My niece took it upon herself to add the angel bit. While I think scriptures says we’re a little lower than angels, I like the entertaining thought that he now has wings. Love you dad. Miss you much.

I am dedicating this post in an effort demonstrate the desire and motivation to seek God’s will for ones life, first. Forrest knew that the Father was in hot pursuit, early on in his life, and turned his life over to Jesus Christ for his Salvation and Lordship, and lived that way, into his 91st year.

I will admit I am grieving along with his family and friends. Two R’s as I have been known to call my Brother in Christ Forrest, rather frequently, has left a void in many lives, after his departure to Glory Land, including mine.

As I sit in my easy chair pondering how Two R’s has impacted my journey over the last, almost 10 years, I begin to visualize Two R’s appearance,  the Love shared when he spoke with the…
