- MIKE STEEDEN -

book cover 12092015

The conversation went something akin to this!

“Have you ever thought of putting a collection of poems together as a book Mike?”

“Occasionally young Rachel…it would be a splendid thing indeed to be able to have a bit of hard copy for the grandkids to read one day and ponder on the point as to what went on in the mind of that silly old fool of a grandad they once had.”

“You should do it then.”

“Do what?”

“Write a book”

“You’re having a laugh surely? When it comes to getting things together I’m about as much use as a fart in a thunder storm; a eunuch in a brothel; you name it and that’s how pathetic I am.”

“No I’m not joking…just do it!”

“It’ll never happen Rachel…you know all the practical stuff involved…I’d just glaze over…remember I’m the bloke who…

The Death Strip’s first review…

Congrats! Delnolan! Spreading the word for you! ~Tru aka Wings~

Del Nolan

cover in colour

The first Amazon review is in. 5 stars and articulate, generous words. Thank you so much T.T Thomas. You are an angel.

Breath-Taking Suspense

From the opening lines to the final paragraph, this lean, taut story of suspense and choices made is memorable. Beautifully written, the style is at once sparse and filled to the brim with feelings and emotions. What does a man caught between two wrongs do to escape the torment of his choices? The author has achieved a masterful grasp of building a story with a pace and tension that keeps the reader on the edge while quietly building the characters’ inner conflicts to match the narrative action. It was a parallel universe of two men, two conflicts, two dramatic outcomes. The novella was as much neo-Noir as political thriller, and the author did justice to both genre. Highly recommended.

There is a world you hide
Beneath that skin of yours
A world that nobody notices
Where the words are lighter
And heart beat is calmer
A world which is an abstract
Mix of sorrows and joys
All woven together perfectly
Making it more real than you
The face for the appearance
The smile for the audience
The words perfectly timed
An actor’s perfected act
You perform stunningly on
Stage for the world to watch
But it’s when you are alone
In voids and spaces of time
The unsure you visibly comes
Out when nobody watches
That part of you lurking in
Shadows for you to relax
A little more you, real you
Making you more human

Where Do We Go From Here?

Hi Poet! I am celebrating 100 followers by reblogging and sharing on facebook!Blessings!

My Pain, My Life, My Struggles, My Fight

Where do we go from here?

I know we was dealt with some difficult cards in life
But we just cant stop there.
God has a bigger plan for us, I can feel it……I know its near.

What I have learned during this tough time and tribulation
That everything happens for a reason
Everyone goes through a tough time,
Just so happen this is our season
There is no devine reason.

He is our God Almighty
He will see us to the end
And only on him you shall depend on
Because he will take you through,
Stay faithful to him because hes the only one that can save you.

He will lift you up, God doesn’t ask for much, your faithfulness, and your daily praises to him, which will put you on the right track, to repentency to get rid of our sins.

Where do we go from here?

Today’s Daily Prompt is:  Take Me to the Moon:

How far would you go for someone you love?  How far would you want someone else to go for you?

I would love for my answer to both parts of the prompt to be anywhere.  Wouldn’t that sound great?  Wouldn’t that mean I was the bestest parent, family member, friend, heck even the bestest complete stranger in someone’s world?  Yeah, perhaps on the surface it would.  I mean ask a lot of other parents out there what they would do for their children and I suspect the most common response would be this:  anything.  But I’ve had enough journeys on this adventure called life that have taught me otherwise.  I do my best to have and express unconditional love for others, but I do have conditions on the parameters of the relationships I have with them.

Here are a few examples …

I will…
