Time for Me to Flick My Mind Boogers on You

Happy birthday week!! Celebrat Big!!!

Dream Big, Dream Often

IMG_7127A few of my random thoughts:

  1. I cannot believe I am almost at 6,000 followers.  When I started this blog 11 months ago I never could have imagined!
  2. Some people don’t click and read reblogs.  Remember, a reblog isn’t just another source of information.  It is another connection.  So next time you see that reblog pop up, click the original post and read and comment.  I do it every single time and lots of my online friends I met in this manner.
  3. I wish the Red Sox were in the playoffs.
  4. We are eating dinner tonight at my favorite Chinese restaurant.  I order the same thing every time: shrimp fried rice with an egg roll.  It is the cleanest, freshest fried rice ever.
  5. I wish more people cared enough about the world to volunteer.  I really mean that.  But, I am starting to believe that most people just don’t care.

SOMETIMES THE ODDEST THINGS HAPPEN IN LIFE!

Wonderful. News!!!

- MIKE STEEDEN -

book cover 12092015

The conversation went something akin to this!

“Have you ever thought of putting a collection of poems together as a book Mike?”

“Occasionally young Rachel…it would be a splendid thing indeed to be able to have a bit of hard copy for the grandkids to read one day and ponder on the point as to what went on in the mind of that silly old fool of a grandad they once had.”

“You should do it then.”

“Do what?”

“Write a book”

“You’re having a laugh surely? When it comes to getting things together I’m about as much use as a fart in a thunder storm; a eunuch in a brothel; you name it and that’s how pathetic I am.”

“No I’m not joking…just do it!”

“It’ll never happen Rachel…you know all the practical stuff involved…I’d just glaze over…remember I’m the bloke who…

The first Amazon review is in. 5 stars and articulate, generous words. Thank you so much T.T Thomas. You are an angel.

Breath-Taking Suspense

From the opening lines to the final paragraph, this lean, taut story of suspense and choices made is memorable. Beautifully written, the style is at once sparse and filled to the brim with feelings and emotions. What does a man caught between two wrongs do to escape the torment of his choices? The author has achieved a masterful grasp of building a story with a pace and tension that keeps the reader on the edge while quietly building the characters’ inner conflicts to match the narrative action. It was a parallel universe of two men, two conflicts, two dramatic outcomes. The novella was as much neo-Noir as political thriller, and the author did justice to both genre. Highly recommended.

CHARACTER CREATION: ALEXANDER ANDREWS

Grady P. Brown was among the first three to follow me in 2014. I admired his actually posting his face online !! (still shy) Then I discovered he’s practically a neighbor doing book signings. Introducing Grady P. Brown.

Grady P Brown - Author

In the third volume of my series, the Young Guardians have encounters with several enemies from their early superhero careers. These individuals were recruited by Vogan (the main villain) to serve as weapons against the Young Guardians. Among these miscreants is the first major criminal the Young Guardians ever defeated: Alexander Andrews. Before the Young Guardians’ careers took off, Alexander was a notorious serial killer and complete and utter psychopath. Although he is one hundred percent human, Alexander has capabilities that would consider him inhuman. For instance, he is freakishly strong, able to overpower and kill virtually any individual with his bare hands. He also suffers from a neurological disease that renders him completely immune to physical pain, allowing him to take serious damage while still able-bodied enough to fight. Psychologically, Alexander’s mind is so twisted and warped that reading his thoughts is impossible, which makes him completely unpredictable. With…
